
Friends of Tijeras Pueblo (FOTP) supported Sandia Ranger District (SRD) in maintenance of Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site and Museum from 1992 until late 2025 when the volunteer group decided to disband. As a result, SRD is reorganizing the volunteer program for Tijeras Pueblo with the primary goal being to continue upkeep of the gardens, archaeological site interpretive trail, and staffing the museum 1-3 days per week.


Friends of Sandia Mountains (FOSM), an active partner of the Sandia Ranger District, supports a large network of volunteers and assists with several district programs and functions. FOSM’s board of directors has agreed to assist the Forest Service in administering a volunteer program that would support continued management of the Tijeras museum and associated interpretive site.
