Matt didn’t let the need to spend the weekend in Flagstaff keep him from preparing for the big event just three weeks away. He ran a 20-mile loop with over 2,200 feet of elevation gain on Saturday utilizing the AZT Trail system.

Sunday Matt ran over 24 miles with a total elevation gain exceeding 5,500 feet. That totals about 44 miles and 7,700 feet for the weekend. Mind-boggling as these numbers are, they still are less than half of what Matt plans to do in the Sandias in just three weeks!

With less than two weeks to go, Matt did Section 9 of his planned course covering almost 18 miles with about 4,700 feet of elevation gain. He promised some great video from the South Crest Trail.

Here’s another awesome video by Matt, who delivered on his promise of great views from South Crest Trail. While it’s fun to see familiar sections of trails previously hiked, it’s even more fun to experience new trails albeit vicariously. Watch by clicking here.
